October 13, 2018 was a beautiful day. The church bells rang in Carmel-by-the-Sea and then of course they took their little dog for a walk. When in Rome right? Then everyone headed off to The Nicklaus Club in Monterey to dine and dance the night away.

It was kind of a drizzly cool day so the ceremony was held indoors in front of the big picture window. I’ve never seen so many packed into that room but everyone was happy and the ceremony sweet. Their first dance blew me away! It was 1/21/17 and women were marching in protest all over the country. I wore my pussy hat as I carried gear to and from the parking lot. Inside the clubhouse there was nothing but love.

Sarah & Billy’s Bernardus Lodge, Carmel Valley Wedding
A rainy day in April didn’t dampen spirits for this adorable bride and groom. They decided to hold an intimate wedding with only their two closest friends. The sister of the bride served double-duty as officiant and confidante. Billy’s bestie was best man.
They’ll gather for a larger event later but they were very smart to make sure they had a video to share. The full length version of this film gives the full hand-written vows each of them wrote to one another. Much love and happiness Sarah & Billy!

For us video folks, it’s often a not very interesting time when people pose for another camera so they can have pictures to put into an album. We always try to find funny bits to shoot and when we’re working with a nice photographer like we were this day, we sometimes ask for a few motion shots of our own . .
