BigTime can encode your video for the web using a variety of encoding schemes - QuickTime, Real One, Windows Media 9, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and several others. All of the video featured throughout our web site was created by us using QuickTime.

We can deliver the files to you by CD-ROM or upload them to your site directly. We have extensive knowledge working with video, unlike many of the web masters out there who come from computer backgrounds. We know how to make your video look it's best - especially if we are producing it for you. See Video Services for more information on BigTime producing your video.

Encoding video for the web is a process of capturing the video by digitization into a computer, using encoding software such as Discreet Logic's Cleaner to resize, compress and encode the video into a manageable data size, and then delivering the final computer file on CD or an on-line method. The actual details are quite complex, which is why most experts advise against trying it without experience.

Creating the video yourself?
Some notes - To optimize the performance of video before it has been encoded for the web, some basic guidelines will help make it look good.
1. Ensure that the video brightness and colors work well with the colors of the background on the web site that it will be displayed on. E.g., dark images don't work well with white backgrounds, but bright images are fine for dark backgrounds. (it's really more a matter of contrast between the two.)
2. Constant motion, especially a lot of fast motion with fast edits, will be noisy and choppy after encoding. Static shots work the best and will be the cleanest on the web.
3. Wide angles with very small details will be difficult to see on the web. The image size will end up pretty small by the time it is encoded. Close-ups are better for web video than wide shots where your subject is very small.

Video od CD-ROM (Video-CD)
Have a video presentation you'd like to have with you when you go out on calls and to meetings? A Video CD is a great way to present video to your clients and associates. Makes a great and cost effective tool for mailings too!

The process for encoding video for a CD is pretty much the same is encoding video for the web. What differs is the method for playback.

OPTION 1 - (cheapest) We simply put the files on the CD and it is up to the user to click on the files to open them and make sure they have the appropriate software to run the video.

OPTION 2 - (pricey, but easy to use) We can create interactive menus and installers that automatically start up when the CD is inserted into the computer. This option is very complicated to create because it needs to work for all operating systems (Macintosh OS 8, 9 or X - Windows '98, 2000, XP etc, etc...) and it needs to do this without help from the user.

Either option can work well for your video presentation. Of course. full color labeling and packaging are available.
